TAG students have just finished another ISP; this was their Passion Project. Students in 2nd grade and older began writing their three research questions on a Google Doc and filled in their notes in bullets as they researched to find their answers. They used the online site: Easybib.com to cite their sources. They created a presentation of their findings in Google Slides, PowerPoint, or Prezi. They researched a career of someone who'd know about their topic on the website and found key words to describe that person's job. Then they may a Wordle of the career words. They also researched a career mentor and sent that person an email of interview questions about the job. Finally, they students made a 3-D product related to their research and created a visual display on a trifold board. Five students, one per grade, represented Purple Sage at the District ISP event at McNeil High School on Tuesday, April 7th, and 28 students will have their projects on display at our Gallery Night on Monday, April 28th, from 6:00-6:30 p.m.

Prezis to Culminate Projects
Our ISP, Independent Study Projects, directed by our Talented and Gifted teacher, Ms. Melissa Jacks, were based on personal interest areas, called "Pursuit of Passion." Some students chose to culminate their interest project with a presentation created using Prezis. Please go to each of the links and click on the right arrow to view.
Ms. Jacks also had students presenting the "storyline" of self-selected books by presenting their comprehension in a presentation. Again, students chose Prezis to display their understanding of their chosen book. Please check out these links.

Animal Nation, an Independent Study Project for First and Second Grades
Our Independent Study Projects are directed by our Talented and Gifted teacher, Ms. Melissa Jacks. Our
First and Second graders compared two favorite animals in their ISP, Animal Nation. They used the library resource pages, in addition to print resources, to study about their two animals. Then they used Easybib to cite them. They created a PowerPoint or Prezi at the conclusion of the project. They presented at our school, as well as at the district level.

Students select a topic of interest, a pursuit of passion, to study about for a month. Then they select a career person who would know lots about that topic to dress up like to present their research. Students used Edcanvas, Prezis and Powerpoints to present their topic. They created a presentation board that included a Wordle for their career. Students of all grade levels participated in this independent study project.
